Eighth grade students considering enrolling in Catholic Central High School are required to take the ACT Explore test. Catholic Central chose the Explore Test as our placement test for several reasons. It assesses academic progress at the eighth grade level, helps students understand and begin to explore career options and assists them in developing a high school course work plan. It functions as a point of entry into the high school level of the ACT (American College Test) which is a college entrance exam required in Wisconisn and 26 other states. The four thirty-minute tests in English, Mathematics, Reading, and Science Reasoning are designed to measure a student’s curriculum related knowledge and the cognitive skills important for future education and careers.
