Praying Hands

MEMBER PARISH
SCHOOLS

Purpose:
The basic objective of this student-founded group is to instill an appreciation and respect for all peoples, regardless
of race, sex, creed, and appearance. This goal will be pursued by the persons involved through activities stressing awareness
and acceptance of those different than themselves. Members will show their class mates that biased remarks and passive
acceptance of such comments will not be tolerated. These students will also strive to help their classmates understand that
diversity is something to value and take an active part in. Finally, members will prvide an open setting to discuss feelings in a
frank and welcome manner. The title, Students Against Intolerance, will serve to monument the efforts of students to rid their
minds of stereotypes that degrade and label, with the emphasis to confirm the oneness of the human race even with its diversities.

Other Important Info:
- S.A.I. hosts Diversity Day every other year. The next Diversity Day will take place in the 2009-2010 school year.
-S.A.I. offers incoming freshman a scholarship of $200.
