Purpose: Founded in 1921, NHS is a program of the national association of secondary school principals dedicated to service in the community and in school.The main ideas of National Honor Society are to create enthusiasm for scholarship, stimulate a desire to render service, promote leadership, and develop character in students.

Students must turn in applications to be considerred for National Honor Society. To qualify for NHS, students need a 3.0 GPA after their 1st semester of sophomore year. Students are given an application that is reviewed by a committee of teachers and staff.
Duties: A member of NHS is expected to:
-Participate in, organize, and plan service projects.
-Exhibit good character at all times.
-Participate in meetings and community service.


Expectations: As a member of National Honor Society, you are expected to:
1. Attend all meetings.
2. Participate in service activities.
3. Volunteer at local organizations.
4. Help raise money for charities.
5. Demonstrate scholarship, character, leadership, and service.
