Arabic 1: Freshman/Sophomore/Junior/Senior Elective 2 Semesters - 1.0 credit. Arabic 1 is an introduction to the Arabic language. Students will learn the Arabic letters, how to write them, and learn to develop basic words. Building on that, students will learn Arabic sentences. At the closure of this yearlong class, students will have a basic understanding of this ancient language.
Arabic 2: Junior/Senior Requirement 2 semesters- 1.0 credit (Pre-requisite: Arabic 1 or equivalent)Students will continue to improve and expand their reading, writing, speaking, and listening skills.  World literature is the focus of Arabic 2.  Students will be required to read and write a minimum of four to six major works throughout the year and to analyze short stories, and non-fiction pieces.  Formal written essays and oral presentations continue to be essential components of this course.  Vocabulary for the college bound and standardized test skills will be incorporated.  Extended projects, group projects, literary analysis, and critical thinking skills are expanded.  A cross-curriculum approach helps the students to connect to literature to other subjects.  This course is appropriate for students considering college or entry into the work world.
Chinese 1: Freshman/Sophomore/Junior/Senior Elective 2 Semesters 1.0 credit. This class is an introduction to basic concepts in the Chinese language and culture. Everyday conversation and activities of young people are emphasized. Oral proficiency, reading comprehension and writing are stressed
Chinese 2: Sophomore/Junior/Senior Elective 2 Semesters 1.0 credits (Prerequisite-Chinease 1). Chinese II is an expansion of Chinese I language and culture. Students learn more basic Chinese characters and Pinyin through series of conversations. Students will learn more about the language and grammar use through explanations and exercises. Meanwhile, students will begin to learn how to write short compositions. The aim of Chinese II is to help students learn more about the language and culture as well as to 
try to use the language in practice.
French 1: Freshman/Sophomore/Junior/Senior Elective 2 Semesters - 1 credit. This class is an introduction to basic concepts in the French language and culture. Everyday conversation and activities of young people are emphasized. Oral proficiency, reading comprehension and writing are stressed.
French 2: Sophomore/Junior/Senior Elective 2 Semesters - 1 credit (Pre-requisite: “C” or better in French I, CONSENT OF INSTRUCTOR). This class is a continuation of French I with a more in-depth study of French culture, history and literature. Greater emphasis is placed on oral proficiency as well as reading and writing skills.
French 3 Junior/Senior Elective 2 Semesters - 1 credit (Pre-requisite: “C” or better in French II, CONSENT OF INSTRUCTOR). This class is a continuation of French II Language and culture study with stress on the details of grammar, development of vocabulary and increased fluency in reading and writing French.
French 4: Senior Elective 2 Semesters - 1 credit (Pre-requisite: “C” or better in French III). French IV is a survey of French history and literature from the middle ages to the present, with a review and continuation of grammar. The class is designed to prepare students for college level French classes
Independent French 4 - Junior/Senior Elective - 0.5 or 1 Credit (Pre-requisite: "C" or Better in French 3 and Instructor Consent) This course is designed to provide advanced study opportunity for students pursuing a special topic/intrest in the French language. Studentss present their study direction to an advisor for approval including goals, time frame, monitoring requirements, and assesment framework.
Italian1: Freshman/Sophomore/Junior/Senior Elective 2 Semesters 1.0 credit. This course will provide students the basic for Italian Level 1. We concentrate on the four skills: reading, writing, speaking and listening. Students will begin to learn extensive thematic vocabulary and grammar that will prepare students to understand the Italian language and culture at a more advanced level. This class will provide a solid background for further advanced study of Italian language and culture. Students’ will use the Italian language to engage in conversations, express feelings and emotions, exchange opinions, and provide and obtain information. Students will understand and interpret written and spoken language on diverse topics from media. Students will use the Italian language to present, orally or in writing, information, concepts and ideas on a variety of topics.
Italian 2: Sophomore/Junior/Senior Elective 2 Semesters 1.0 credit. (Prerequisite-Italian 1). Upon successful completion of Italian I students will expand and build upon their basic knowledge of the language. Students will demonstrate knowledge and understanding of traditions, ideas and perspectives, institutions, professions, literacy and artistic expressions, and other components of Italian culture. Students will recognize that languages use different patterns to communicate and apply this knowledge to develop insight into nature of language and culture.
Spanish 1: Freshman/Sophomore/Junior/Senior Elective 2 Semesters - 1 credit. Spanish I is an introduction to the Spanish language. Students will learn basic vocabulary and basic grammar structures. Speaking, listening, writing, and reading will be emphasized. Students will learn to ask questions, and describe people, places, and things in the target language. Students will leave Spanish I with an understanding of the geographical and cultural variety of the Spanish-speaking world.
Spanish 2: Freshman/Sophomore/Junior/Senior Elective 2 Semesters - 1 credit (Pre-requisite: “C” or better in Spanish I and English, and the CONSENT OF INSTRUCTOR). Spanish II is an expansion of material learned during the student’s first year of study, and will continue to build the vocabulary and grammar structures of the language. Students continue to explore as they study the themes of Home Life, Student, Life, Leisure Time, and Vacation and Travel. Very little English will be spoken in the classroom. A copy of a Spanish-English dictionary will be needed.
Spanish 3: Sophomore/Junior/Senior Elective 2 Semesters - 1 credit (Pre-requisite: “C” or better in Spanish II and English or equivalent and CONSENT OF INSTRUCTOR). Spanish III is a continuation of Spanish II where students continue to develop and refine their proficiency in all four language skills-listening, speaking, reading, and writing- with emphasis on the ability to interact orally and in writing. They communicate using more complex language structures on a variety of topics, moving from concrete to more abstract concepts. Students apply critical thinking skills as they study and/or present current events, art forms, and media forms in the target language. Students use technology sources to research topics of personal interest. A Spanish-English dictionary is required.
Spanish 4: Junior/Senior Elective 2 Semesters - 1 credit (Pre-requisite: “C” or better in Spanish III, English and CONSENT OF INSTRUCTOR). Students develop more sophisticated communication skills in all four areas – listening, speaking, reading, and writing – with special emphasis on the ability to interact orally and in writing. Students communicate using more complex language structures and express abstract ideas with reasonable fluency. Students are able to create and listen with understanding to reports and presentations. Reading supplements such as short stories and essays, monthly newspaper/magazines and current articles in the Spanish language are studied to build cultural awareness an improve reading comprehension. Class is conducted in Spanish and students are expected to ask questions, give comments and converse with others in the target language.
